Location

Potsdam is located about half an hour by train west of Berlin. The home of summer residences of Prussian royalty and Albert Einstein, Potsdam is an idyllic town of 130,000 people known for its stunning palaces, architecture and leisurely pace of life. Large sections of the city have World Heritage status from UNESCO.

Program

The summer school is located in a beautiful hotel setting on the edge of Lake Schwielowseee, just a few km south of the Potsdam city centre. The facilities include 7 large classrooms, a cafeteria/restaurant, fitness centre, student lounge, and easy access to the lakeside beach. The school is also within walking distance of a windsurfing school.

Course

The Potsdam Summer camp is for 14-17 year olds and offers 20 lessons per week of German as well as activities and day trips. The weekdays are divided into three parts with classes in the morning, cultural and sport activities in the afternoon, and evening social activities and movies. There is a full day excursion usually on Saturday to Berlin. Sundays are beach/swimming activities, self-study time, and parties on the lakeside. Please see the sample schedule for more information.

Teachers

The instructors are certified to teach German and have several years of experience with a wide variety of levels.

Accommodation

Students will be staying on-site in a shared room with one other student. Each room has an en-suite washroom and shower. Three meals a day are included and school staff live on site and are available 24 hours a day.
